Soooo I posted on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/abisblogx/ about a week ago some things I bought at boots.
- Max Factor colour corrected in green
- Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation
- Loreal lumi primer
- Loreal infallible sculpt contour
- Loreal infallible foundation
I have been trying all of these out over this week so I can give you all the first impression I got when I first used them and my thoughts after using them multiple times.
To start off with we have the Max Factor colour corrected in the shade green. I actually fell in love with this when I first tried it and I haven’t changed my opinion, I do have another green colour corrector and I prefer this due to the texture and the design as it’s much easier to use. They also have these in a few other colours. Green (to correct redness), Yellow (for under eyes), Purple (to brighten up dullness), Pink (to even out dark spots) and a highlighter one (whoop whoop highlighter!!!!)
Here’s the actually descriptions of the shades from Boots.
Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick – Corrects Redness
The Reducer. This green stick neutralises redness, such as blemishes, blotchiness and broken veins. Use the stick to precisely target the area you’d like to correct. Gently blend on your skin and repeat action if needed. Then simply apply your foundation or CC Cream on top for a flawless look.
Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick – Corrects under eye circles
The Brightener. This yellow stick neutralises purple tones such as under-eye circles. Use the stick to precisely target the area you’d like to correct. Gently blend on your skin and repeat action if needed. Then simply apply your foundation or CC Cream on top for a flawless look.
Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick – Corrects dullness
The Revitaliser. This lilac stick counteracts sallow and yellow areas, banishing dullness. Use the stick to precisely target the area you’d like to correct. Gently blend on your skin and repeat action if needed. Then simply apply your foundation or CC Cream on top for a flawless look.
Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick – Highlighter
The Illuminator. This highlighter softly reflects light and illuminates the face. Use after foundation or CC Cream to create contours and accentuate your features such as your cheekbones, or just under your eye brow.
Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick – Corrects Dark spots on Light Skin tones
The Balancer. This pink stick evens out dark spots in light skin tones. Use the stick to precisely target the area you’d like to correct. Gently blend on your skin and repeat action if needed. Then simply apply your foundation or CC Cream on top for a flawless look.

I have only tried the green one from this collection and I totally love it I am defiantly thinking about picking up some of the other shades!! The consistency of this crayon is quite thick but not when you apply it as it comes out smooth and in an even layer, It has very good coverage and blends out amazingly. It correct redness very well so I have high expectations for the others, I am defiantly wanting to try the under eyes one and the highlighter!!!
Next is the Maybelline Dream Velvet foundation…
OMG is all I can say about this foundation from the second I used it I have loved it. It is amazing and so affordable especially for it having such good coverage when one layer is applied I’d say medium to full but its buildable so you can get a fuller coverage if you apply a second layer and as it says it is actually really hydrating for being matte, it’s not cakey and has a lovely smooth even finish, the only thing I don’t like it that it seems to come off throughout the day, most of my foundations do so not too much of an issue as I can always just take it with me a touch up although if I use my urban decay all-nighter setting spray it does help keep it in place. Apart from I totally love it!!!
I also picked up the L’Oreal lumi magique primer…
This primer is a light enriching base which illuminates the skin and hydrates the skin for up to 8 hours!! This is totally amazing as soon as you put it on your skin is glowing and feels really hydrated and smooth and soft it makes my foundation glide on top and overall is amazing, the first time I used it I did put a little too much on and I was really glowing (like a pearl!!!) but when I blended my foundation on top it totally toned it down and looked amazing still. So overall very good!!
I’ve seen a view youterbuer /bloggers and people on insta raving about the L’Oreal infallible range and quite a lot about their contour so I picked it up… of course as always….
I have only tried this a few times as I’m still getting use to it, I did however pick it up in medium/deep and not the lighter one so the shade is slightly wrong as someone kindly placed the darker shades behind the lighter sample so without checking I just got it anyway (WARNING ALWAYS READ THE LABEL) Anyways about the actual product. This is a cream to powder product first one I’ve ever heard of. Basically it’s like cream to the touch and when you apply it to your face the way you would with any highlight and contour shade then when you blend it out it turn into a power, quite unusual but it actually works really well. I think I would prefer the lighter shade to the darker as I mentioned because I picked it up in the wrong it doesn’t really suit me so much but I think when I’ve tanned or maybe mix it in with another contouring product it might work so experimenting needs to be done!!! But the highlighting shade is really good I don’t use it how I would use a ‘normal’ highlighter just cause its matte and I’m all about the shimmery highlighters but under my eyes it works pretty well.
Finally I picked up the L’Oreal Infallible Matte foundation…
I do quite like this foundation but slightly prefer the Maybelline dream velvet as that’s more hydrating but with a hydrating primer underneath this one works amazing!! This is fully matte with full coverage, it doesn’t dry cakey and stays looking fresh all day long, this is another foundation that although claims to be 24hr does fade and start come of throughout the day (nothing my Urban Decay all-nighter setting spray can’t help tho… All praise the All the nighter setting spray). My first impression of this was that I liked it and don’t get me wrong I still do I just slightly lean more towards the dream velvet when comparing these two but they are priced pretty much the same so not much difference between them especially if I have something like moisturizer underneath the L’Oreal one.
Thanks for reading and don’t forget to check out my other blog post!!
